Check for Disk Drive Space or Use Target Disk Mode

The target Mac should have adequate space to hold the data and system information of the older one. If your newer Mac has less space or it’s filled. Then you either need to empty the older Mac space or store it somewhere else.

Now, if you still face a problem with transferring using the assistant. You need to go deeper using a tool in Mac called Target Disk Mode which allows you to use one Mac as an external drive to make data extraction easier.
